OSAKA RAIN (NANIWA NO AME)

Suddenly it’s solid cloud black as night beyond

And the sun is closing down fading like a song

Oh yes I guess they were right and we’re gonna get wet tonight

Push our way through the clinging mist

A gossamer web like a tender kiss

Naniwa no ame, Osaka rain

Hung in space a silver curtain a shimmering golden train

And I walk and talk with you, will it ever be the same

Strolling round Namba town

In the warm  Osaka rain

Coloured lights reflected in lakes that appear

Find a doorway to shelter in, seems like it’s been raining for years

Then a memory floats by

Hide those tears you don’t wanna cry

Thinking back to where we began

Tryna get through, we try, try to understand

One man sits in his cardboard castle remains

Once had a life it’s not over yet

But now the rain helps him forget.

One man runs his suit gets stains

One man sits in his cardboard castle remains

Once had a life it’s not over yet

But now the rain helps him forget.
